Evidence
Evidence is information used to support, challenge, contextualize, or evaluate a Claim, Predicate, Assertion, Outcome, or other proposition-bearing context.
Specification-sourced: quoted from the governing specification, pending the applicable specification-owner approvals. The specification controls.
In plain words
Soil test results, lab reports and field records can all serve as Evidence, each with its own provenance, access restrictions and quality. Contradictory Evidence can coexist in the Model without forcing premature consensus.
What it is not
Evidence ≠ Claim
Evidence is information that supports or challenges a proposition; the Claim is the proposition itself, and the two remain distinct records. Evidence · Canonical Model & Protocol (source: 04 §10.3)
Evidence ≠ Evaluation
Evidence is an input; an Evaluation records that an identifiable evaluator applied criteria or methods to such inputs and obtained a result. Assertion · Canonical Model & Protocol (source: 04 §10.6)
Evidence ≠ Observation
Evidence is information used in relation to a proposition; an Observation records what was perceived or measured and may become one source of Evidence. Evidence · Canonical Model & Protocol (source: 04 §10.3)
