OpenRSN
OpenRSN (Open Regenerative Systems Nexus) is the name of this work, of its architecture, and of this specification series: an open foundation for an Internet of Living Systems.
Specification-sourced: quoted from the governing specification, pending the applicable specification-owner approvals. The specification controls.
In plain words
OpenRSN is the name of the foundation, its architecture and its specification series: an open standards and innovation foundation, an interoperability ecosystem and a reference architecture, not a single product or a centrally operated network. *Nexus* is the relationships among independently operated systems, not a central hub, registry, data lake or custodian. *Living* is the governed, adaptive behavior of connected biological, human, institutional, digital and agentic systems, not a claim that software is alive.
Three integrated capabilities. Identity & Trust (specified in Documents 08–09, Proposed), Discovery & Federation (federation specified as Draft Normative; the discovery network's integration Proposed) and Intelligence (the Derived boundary specified; the agent architecture Proposed). The Federated Governed Data Foundry is the first proposed flagship reference realization of sovereign data governance; it crosses all three, it is not a fourth product, and no Foundry contract is specified yet.
Compatibility identifiers. A few identifiers keep the earlier name RSM because issued identities, citations and services depend on them: the document identifiers RSM-01 to RSM-09, the rsm: namespace, the identity system name RSM ID with its RID, RRN and RSN primitives, issued RIDs and the resolver host rsmid.org (01 §19.6). They are not a second architecture. In Document 08, *RSN* means RSM Space Name, unrelated to the RSN in OpenRSN. OpenRSN is a proposed name; trademark and domain clearance are not certified.
What it is not
OpenRSN ≠ Metamind
OpenRSN is the current foundation and architecture; the Metamind was a superseded formulation of edition 2.1.0, and its distributed reasoning now belongs to the Intelligence capability. Model, Map, and Earlier Names · Concept Paper (source: 01 §19.5)
OpenRSN ≠ Model
OpenRSN is the foundation, architecture and specification series; the OpenRSN Model is the specified semantic and computational foundation its three capabilities share. OpenRSN, the Nexus, and Compatibility Identifiers · Concept Paper (source: 01 §19.6)
